Water for A Generation
Water for A Generation is the Swaziland Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN) funded by The Coca Cola Africa Foundation (TCCAF) to develop 50 solar water systems for clinics that are decentralizing ART and TB care and treatment, schools, HIV Support Groups with garden projects, and orphan care centers. SAI provided technical support to develop the vision and strategy for the project and ongoing grants management support through completion 2012. Accomplishments include:
- Providing improved access to water for 250,000 people
- 50 solar water systems installed, producing 25 million liters of water a year
- Water systems benefit 21 clinics, 14 schools, 14 orphan care points, and 4 agricultural projects
- 15,000 people trained in health, sanitation and hygiene
