Amarie recently retired from teaching after 30 years in both private and public education. During that time, she served as a Union Representative, was a member of the Building Leadership Team, Climate and Culture Team, and Positive Behavioral Interventions Systems (PBIS) leadership team. Amarie wrote grants for the reading and counseling departments at her local school. She wrote and facilitated training for paraeducators in student safety, problem-solving techniques, and social and emotional development. Amarie also helped develop and participate in a pilot intervention reading program for primary grade students.
During this same time, Amarie pastored alongside her husband for 42 years in the Church of the Nazarene. She has served in many capacities, including directing Children’s camps, speaking at Youth and Women’s retreats, and leading marriage retreats with her husband, Robert. She has also participated in mission trips, and worldwide missions support through Nazarene World Missions. Amarie also leads an afterschool program to help students and families from her local elementary school.
